Day 12 July 8

We are in Orofino. We arrived yesterday at about 2 pm. It was a leisure drive and extremely hot--87 degrees. Cody could barely take it. I tried calling Grandpa Dean, but the pay phone took my money. The people at R Place let me use their phone, but I only got his fax machine. Cody couldn't remember how to get to his house. I drove around until he remembered a landmark and his memory kicked in. Between Cody and Renee, we found his house and no one was home. The place was a construction zone and it looked like no one was living there. I left a note and went to get ice and a hotel room with all our requirements. They had a swimming and Cody spent the next 1-2 hours in it. I went back into town and got ice and Chinese takeout. At about 8 pm the phone rang and it was Dean. Surprise--Grandma Diane is in Anchorage and has been for the last 6 weeks! We will go back to their place tomorrow and spend the night before continuing on. --Georgia

it's me back in a motel it's nice i like it more then a tent and we get a free breakfast and a pool -- Cody
