Day 3 June 29

What a miserable summer! It is cold and raining every where. I just hope it gets better the further south we go. It was a long day to Tok--getting out late, road construction and stopping for dinner. we did not get into Tok until 12:30 am. It was raining. There was not a room or camp site in town. We finally found an old camp ground, drove to the back, and set up our tent. During breakfast the next morning, Cody went to check out a sound and found a nest of woodpeckers with babies in a nearby tree. Took the chance to call home. We then drove straight through to Whitehorse, YT, another long day. There was road construction almost all the way and it rained again. I am a fair weather camper, so we checked into a hotel. Cody downloaded a movie for tonight, at Liard Hot Springs. We also took showers and changed cloths. I can't wait for the day of rest tomorrow. --Georgia

I like the trip so far. I can't wait for the hot springs today! Only 8 hours till we get there. I'm going to spend the time keeping the dog off of my lap again. --Renee

oh noes it me i'm cold just got out of the shower and it's 10:55 were where susspost to be gone by 9 but the alarm didnt work for some reason but we will be in laird hot springs in 8 or so hours --Cody

Day minus 1

My living room is stacked with most of our camping gear. Tomorrow morning I pack the stuff out of the freezer and haul everything down to the car. I still have to stop at the bank to get some Canadian money. Last year I was charged 10% for every credit card transaction made in Canada. This year I'm taking cash. I only need to get down the highway and from Seattle to Prince Rupert. I don't plan on purchasing much more than gas. --Georgia

This is my side of the story and I'll tell ya it's not good just kidding but really This trip is going to be a journey of a lifetime at least for me I'll tell you more as it progresses.--Cody

Have a safe trip

Hi Georgia and crew

Hope you are going to include lots of pictures of your trip to make us all jealous that we aren't there with you. I am going to be working quite a bit this summer but will be taking a couple of camping trips.

Here is a picture of me doing one of my favorite things - reading a good book (Covenants by Lorna Freeman). What books will you be reading this summer? You can check out my current list of books at my blog.

Have a safe trip.
